Three years ago, Local Farm started breeding it’s standard jerseys to minature jersey bulls, and began working even more with our calves and young stock. They lead well with a halter, stand to have their feet picked up, and are comfortable with a person’s hands around and in their mouths. Potential Family Cows For Sale

December 31, 2008 - Local Farm has four heifers for sale, see their pictures below. Starting price for each is $3000. Subtract $500 if you have ever attended a Family Cow Workshop at Local Farm. We’re open to all kinds of creative bartering for the right family. All four lead well on a halter, let their feet be picked up for cleaning or trimming, and are very friendly. Their names, birthdates, and heights are next to their pictures. Registration with the American Miniature Jersey Cattle Association is pending. All but Penelope can be considered full-blooded miniatures.

Becky Wolfe’s 8 year old Trixie (known as “Boss Cow”) is also for sale. She is half-holstein/half-jersey, VERY friendly, and has a great udder for hand milking. Her daughter out of a jersey bull is due to calf in May and is also available. Call Becky at 518-686-7310 for more info.

Chris Hopkins at Stonewall Dairy has three brand new heifer calves available for $500 each. They are 3/8miniature jersey-5/8 standard jersey. Call him at 860-672-0261.
